Chapter 16
High on Life
The next weekend we go out with a few of my friends to the local tavern, it’s so nice to see the girls and have relaxed drinks. They are my rocks and I’m so glad they all get along well with Kade.
I feel at home with them and don’t have to worry about being judged or about jealous chicks causing trouble. Like the dreaded bitch face. “Hey Kade, nice to see you again,” Tia tells him and kisses his cheek.
“Yo bro,” calls Jemma as she playfully punches his arm. Yep I love these girls.
Kade and I are dancing on the dance floor. “See this is fun, you look pretty spunky out here busting some moves Mr. Thomas,” I say cheekily.
“Oh is that right Miss Thorne?” he asks and kisses me
running his octopus arms all over my arse and hips.
“How bout we have another round?” I ask him and point him to the bar, I need a bit of a girly dance, I love him to death but I can’t neglect my girlfriends. I shimmy on over to them and start dirty dancing, it is so much fun. “Just like old times,” I scream knowing another drink is going to make me a bit messy. I lose myself in the music, enjoying some freedom when I feel a hand around my waist. Just assuming it’s Kade I put my hand over his. Then start to dance with him.
“Roxy, turn around,” I hear Jemma yelling.
“What?” I say to her and turn around, to see that it isn’t Kade at all but some sleazebag that just thought he would grope me.
“Get your fucking hands off me!” I yell at him and push him away. Just perfect. I see Kade heading back and he has witnessed the whole event. He puts our drinks on the table.
“What the fuck are you doing man? She is with me!” he screams at the scum bag.
“Well she was enjoying herself from where I was standing,” the jerk replies looking to obviously cause a fight.
“He’s not worth it Kade,” I say to him trying to prevent a war from breaking lose.
“I’ve seen her here before a lot so I wouldn’t get too attached dude, she changes guys every week,” the loser says to Kade now laughing.
SMACK! Kade punches him clear in the nose. “Don’t you fucking speak about her like that you arsehole,” he screams at the wanker who is now on the floor holding his bleeding nose.
I run to Kade. “Shit baby I didn’t know you could punch like that,” I smirk at him and rub his fist, then kiss it. “Your hand okay?” I ask him.
“Shit Rox, you gotta take care of yourself, you didn’t even know it was a random guy, what if he’d hurt you or touched you somewhere else, I would have demolished him!” he says to me concerned.
“I just assumed it was you, it was stupid, won’t happen again okay,” I promise him lean up to kiss him. I was the damsel in distress and my knight in shining armour saved me.
